Raisa Cup Golf Tournament  (12-13 Sep 2014)

 

RANGPUR, Sept 14 (BSS): The final round of the two-day first-ever 'Raisa Cup Golf Tournament-2014' was held at the Golf Ground here Saturday.

A total of 96 golfers, including 64 males, eight females, eight junior and 16 sub-junior golfers, participated in the tournament sponsored by Dhrubo Constructions Limited.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Faruk became the winner in the senior male group while Lieutenant Colonel Golam Mortuza became the winner, Enamul Haque Sohel was the runner-up and Dr Zabed Akhter was adjudged as the Best Gross in the nine-whole event.

In the female group, Mrs Major Nayeem and Mrs Nasrine Haque Bobby secured the first and second position respectively.

In the junior group, Tahmid and Miss Sumaiya Haque Subah secured the first and second positions while Nawshin and Mosammat Fatema Zannat became the first and second in the sun-Junior group respectively.

Senior Vice-president of Rangpur Golf Club and Rangpur Area Commander Major General Salah Uddin Miazi, psc attended the concluding ceremony as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.

Owner of Dhrubo Constructions Limited Mr. Saiful Alam Swapan Chwdhury, military high officials and civil society of the Rangpur area attended the concluding and prize-giving ceremonies.

The prize-giving ceremony was followed by a colourful cultural programme at the same venue, where students of Syedpur Cantonment Public School and College performed.
